In a major boost to the UK manufacturing sector, Hotel Chocolat, one of Britain’s leading chocolatiers, has announced a substantial £10 million investment to expand its manufacturing plant in Royston. This expansion not only signifies Hotel Chocolat’s growth but also delivers a significant boost to the local economy by creating 50 new jobs.

This strategic investment underscores Hotel Chocolat’s dedication to supporting the UK economy and its manufacturing industry. The expansion aims to enhance production capabilities to meet the increasing consumer demand while upholding the company’s renowned quality standards.

In addition to the manufacturing expansion, Hotel Chocolat is set to grow its retail presence across the UK. The company plans to open 25 new stores next year, with key locations including Belfast and Glasgow. Existing stores in Nottingham and Chichester will also see significant upgrades, further enhancing the shopping experience for chocolate lovers. Luckily, this will provide multiple new opportunities for shop fitters.

Angus Thirlwell, CEO and Co-founder of Hotel Chocolat, emphasised the company’s commitment to its UK roots: “The UK is the home of the Hotel Chocolat brand, and we’re committed to investing in the UK high street and British manufacturing.”

This dual investment in both manufacturing and retail demonstrates Hotel Chocolat’s confidence in the UK market, even amidst the challenges facing the retail sector. By expanding its physical footprint and strengthening its production capabilities, Hotel Chocolat is positioning itself for sustained success.

With these new developments, Hotel Chocolat is not only investing in its future but also contributing to the growth of British manufacturing and retail sectors.
