We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor, to be based at the Coventry office . The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the commitment to excellence that the company possesses. You will collaborate with the commercial team, local authorities, and housing associations to manage costs effectively and ensure the successful delivery of social housing projects.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Cost Estimation: Reviewing architectural plans and assessing quantity requirements to estimate costs for materials, labour, and other resources.
  • Contract Preparation: Preparing contracts, tender documents, and procurement schedules.
  • Budget Monitoring: Tracking project budgets and managing changes during construction.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to provide cost-related guidance and support.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulation
  • Assist in conducting cost analysis, risk management, and procurement strategies.
  • Monitor project progress, including cost control, variations, and valuations.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to provide cost-related guidance and support.
  • Prepare final accounts and statements, resolving any outstanding contractual claims.
  • Assist in providing regular financial reports and advice to project teams.
  • Support the negotiation of sub-contracts and agreement of variations with contractors and suppliers.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering, or related field (desirable but not essential).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in social housing.
  • Strong knowledge of construction costs, contracts, and procurement processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organised approach.
  • Strong numeracy and financial management skills.
  • Proficient in the use of industry-standard software (e.g. MS Excel, etc.).

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year

Additional pay:

  • Bonus scheme

  • surveying: 2 years (required)
