Shifts – 24/7 operating hours so 12-hour shifts

About the Role:

We are seeking experienced Mechanical Marine Fitters to join our team. This role involves the overhaul, repair, and maintenance of key marine mechanical components, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overhaul and repair of propeller hubs, shafts, bow thrusters, stabilizers, winches, valves, and pumps.
  • Perform detailed inspections, fault diagnosis, and mechanical repairs to ensure components are operating efficiently.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble marine components to meet manufacturer and industry standards.
  • Conduct testing and quality checks post-repair to ensure all work meets safety and operational requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and technical teams to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
  • While most engine work is outsourced by owners, experience with engine maintenance is beneficial but not essential.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Marine Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or similar role within the marine industry.
  • Strong knowledge of marine mechanical systems, including propulsion and auxiliary systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools for mechanical repairs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and methodical approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the marine industry.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ, HNC, or equivalent).
  • Marine industry certifications would be advantageous
