Shifts – 24/7 operating hours so 12-hour shifts
About the Role:
We are looking for experienced Marine Riggers to join our team, working on shipbuilding, repair, and refurbishment projects. The role involves lifting, moving, and positioning heavy loads using a variety of rigging and slinging techniques. You will work with cranes, hoists, winches, and other lifting equipment, ensuring all operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rigging and slinging operations to safely lift and position heavy loads.
- Work with cranes, hoists, winches, and lifting gear in a marine environment.
- Inspect and maintain rigging equipment to ensure safety and compliance.
- Interpret lifting plans and technical drawings to execute lifts safely.
- Follow all health & safety regulations and ensure best practices in lifting operations.
- Assist in general shipyard activities, including load securing and structural assembly.
Requirements:
- Recognised slinging qualifications (e.g., NVQ, OPITO, CPCS, or ECITB-certified rigging/slinging).
- Proven experience as a Rigger in marine, shipbuilding, offshore, or heavy engineering industries.
- Strong understanding of lifting and rigging techniques, load calculations, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
Desirable:
- Experience with specialist marine lifting operations.
- Additional training in banksman/slinger, crane operations, or working at height.
- Familiarity with shipyard and offshore lifting regulations.
