About the Role:

We are looking for experienced Plumbers / Pipeworkers to join our marine engineering team. The role involves manufacturing and installing pipes for all ship systems, ranging from small bore to approximately 300mm diameter. You will be required to take jigs from existing pipes for replication, fabricate new pipes from drawings, and template/manufacture pipes when no drawings are available. Materials include carbon steel, CuNiFe (copper-nickel), and occasionally stainless steel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture and install new pipework systems for various ship applications.
  • Take jigs from existing pipework for accurate replication.
  • Read and work from technical drawings to fabricate pipe systems.
  • When no drawings are available, template and manufacture pipes to precise specifications.
  • Work with carbon steel, CuNiFe, and stainless steel to produce high-quality pipework.
  • Ensure all work meets industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other trades (welders, fitters, and engineers) to ensure seamless installation.
  • Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Plumber / Pipeworker in the marine, shipbuilding, or heavy engineering industries.
  • Strong ability to work with a range of pipe sizes (small bore to 300mm diameter).
  • Experience working with carbon steel, CuNiFe, and stainless steel.
  • Ability to template and fabricate pipes when no drawings are available.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable:

  • Pipe welding or brazing experience (not essential but beneficial).
  • Knowledge of marine industry piping standards.
  • Experience working on ship refurbishment and new-build projects.
