Role Overview: As the Joinery Operational Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our joinery workshop. You will lead a team of skilled craftsmen, manage project timelines, ensure quality control, and maintain a safe working environment. Your leadership will be crucial in driving efficiency, maintaining high standards, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire joinery production process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of joinery professionals, including joiners, apprentices, and support staff.
  • Coordinate with project managers, designers, and clients to ensure clear communication and understanding of project requirements.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure all work meets company and client specifications.
  • Manage and optimise workshop resources, including materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and report on operational performance to senior management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the workshop.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within a joinery or woodworking environment.
  • Strong understanding of joinery processes, materials, and techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Proficient in the use of joinery software and tools.
  • Relevant qualifications in joinery, woodworking, or a related field are highly desirable.
