The Role - Estimator

Location – Barry, South Wales

Type – Full Time, Permanent

Salary - £35k - £45k + 23 days annual holiday +8 bank holiday, Pension contribution, Salary sacrifice scheme (car), Bonus incentives

  • My client is seeking to recruit an experienced and committed Engineering Estimator to support our growth in the land, marine and offshore sectors.
  • As an Engineering Estimator, you will report to the Engineering Manager and work closely
  • with the Business Development Manager.
  • As an Engineering Estimator, you will be required to review and evaluate specifications, technical drawings, attend site visits, surveys and meetings, to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimate in line with legislation, engineering specifications, client specifications and good engineering practices.
  • As an Engineering Estimator, you should determine the timeframe for the project. Including, but not limited to
    • Logistics, potential delays, customs requirements, and scheduling.
  • You will produce technical quotations and estimations in accordance with legislation, specifications, and client requirements and use your engineering knowledge and experience.
  • You will support with developing our standard set of Norms to ensure that we are to deliver projects within budget and to agreed margins.
  • Liaise between various members of the engineering and operations department during the estimating phase.
  • Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back up estimate figures.
  • To assemble and present a professional estimate with the tools and systems available.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Estimator / Bid Manager.
  • Strong understanding of waste-to-energy, pressure systems technologies and structural components.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids concurrently, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with bid management software and tools.
  • Previous experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
