The Role:
They are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for complex engineering projects in the power and energy sectors. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring projects are both cost-effective and meet our high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for power systems, energy-from-waste projects, welding, and pressure systems.
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and requirements to determine project scope and cost.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure alignment with project budgets and specifications.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities to optimise project delivery and costs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and labour costs.
- Support the business development team with technical expertise during client discussions.
About You:
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer, Mechanical Engineer of an Engineering Estimator, preferably within power, energy from waste, welding, or pressure systems.
- Strong technical background in engineering, with a degree or equivalent qualifications in mechanical, electrical, or process engineering.
- Excellent understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Proficient in using estimation software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Results-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
