Rhino Recruitment are seeking 2 skilled Workshop Bench Joiners to join our team. As a Workshop Bench Joiner, you will be responsible for crafting and assembling high-quality wooden window frames, doors, screens, bar fixtures and restaurant fixtures also. This role requires exceptional woodworking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Woodworking: Utilise your expertise in woodworking techniques to construct, shape, and join wooden components to create furniture and fixtures according to design specifications.

Assembly: Skilfully assemble furniture pieces, ensuring precise measurements, accurate joints, and seamless finishes.

Interpretation of drawings: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the required dimensions, materials, and construction methods for each project.

Material Selection: Choose appropriate wood types and other materials necessary for each project, considering factors such as aesthetics, durability, and cost-effectiveness.

Machine Operation: Operate a variety of woodworking tools and machinery, including saws, routers, planers, drills, and sanders, safely and effectively.

Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to ensure they meet quality standards, identifying and rectifying any defects or imperfections.

Collaboration: Collaborate with designers, carpenters, and other team members to discuss project requirements, exchange ideas, and troubleshoot any challenges that arise during the production process.

Worksite Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment, including the proper storage and care of tools, equipment, and materials.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and others.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Workshop Bench Joiner or similar role, demonstrating expertise in woodworking techniques, joinery, and furniture assembly – or as a fully times served carpenter who wants to move into this role Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of various wood types, their characteristics, and suitable applications.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity, with the ability to operate woodworking tools and machinery effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, finished products.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
